Early Resolution

Early Resolution

Manual markets can optionally allow early resolution: resolution before the scheduled betting close, if the outcome is already known.

How It Works

  1. The market creator can enable early resolution when creating the market to open community proof while the market is still active.
  2. Admins can also intervene on an active manual market when the result is already known, even if the creator did not enable early resolution.
  3. Any active-market proof used for early settlement must include an outcome known at timestamp indicating when the outcome became clear.
  4. An admin reviews the proof and resolves the market early.

Late-Bet Refunds

When a market is resolved early, any predictions placed after the outcome was known (the outcome_known_at timestamp) are automatically refunded. This protects users who may not have seen the result yet from losing their stake unfairly.

When to Use Early Resolution

Early resolution is useful for markets where the outcome may become clear well before the scheduled close. For example, a market about whether a product will launch before a certain date, where the launch happens early.
