Trading Cutoff

Predictions are accepted only before the trading cutoff. After cutoff, new predictions are rejected and refunded.

Cutoff Policies by Category

Sports Markets

Fixed 60-minute cutoff buffer before betting close. If betting close is 8:00 PM, the cutoff is 7:00 PM.

Crypto Markets

A 20% pre-close cutoff window. For a market that runs 10 days, the last 2 days are after cutoff. This prevents last-minute predictions when the outcome may already be obvious from price trends.

Hive Markets

A 10% pre-close cutoff window.

Tech & Other Markets

A 5% pre-close cutoff window (default), with a minimum floor of 3 minutes and a maximum ceiling of 72 hours.

Why Cutoffs Exist

Cutoffs protect the integrity of the market by preventing users from predicting after the outcome is effectively known. They also give the late-entry weighting system (in crypto markets) a meaningful range to operate over.
