Your First Prediction

Step by Step

1. Sign in: click “Sign in with Hive” in the top right and authenticate with Hive Keychain or HiveSigner.
2. Check eligibility: HivePredict checks your account age, reputation, and post history before allowing predictions.
3. Browse markets: go to the Markets page and find an active market that interests you.
4. Choose your side: click on the market to view details, then select your predicted outcome.
5. Enter your stake: type the amount you want to stake (up to the per-account cap). If the market uses a Hive Engine token you don’t have, you’ll be offered an automatic dSwap from HIVE.
6. Confirm: approve the transaction in Hive Keychain. Your tokens are transferred to the market pool.
7. Wait for resolution: when the outcome is determined, winners automatically receive their payouts.

Tips

• Start with a small stake to learn how the system works.
• Check the estimated payout shown before confirming. It updates as you type.
• In crypto markets, earlier predictions receive better profit-share weighting.
• You can view your active predictions on your profile page.

Notifications

When you are signed in, the bell in the header lists your payouts, resolved markets, proof requests on your markets, bets closing within 24 hours, and new markets from creators you follow.

HivePredict also replies on Hive from the platform account with an @mention when you win, when your market resolves or needs more proof, once a day for bets closing within 24 hours, and once a day for new markets from creators you follow. Each daily comment lists up to five markets, and nobody gets more than four of these comments in 24 hours. To stop them, turn off Hive notifications in safety settings. The bell works the same either way.
